The Paper Odyssey
A creative paper lab in Guadeloupe
Local materials & biodiversity
The workshop will promote a craft inspired by our local plant and cultural heritage, using fibres such as banana, sugarcane, hemp, and coconut.
We will also experiment with invasive species β water hyacinth, bamboo, typha β whose spread threatens our biodiversity. Turning a problem into a resource.
Social inclusion & transmission
The workshop will engage vulnerable audiences β young people, families, seniors β around meaningful creative activities.
It will also host residencies for local and invited artists.
Support & recognition
This project has already received support from:
- ADEME (Agency for Ecological Transition) β feasibility study
- French Ministry of Culture β "Green Residencies" programme
- Culture Moves Europe β mobility grant
- Invitations from partners in Louisiana (USA)
"From a feasibility study funded by ADEME to the French Ministry of Culture's Green Residencies, from invitations in Louisiana to Culture Moves Europe β the idea of the Paper Odyssey has already sparked enthusiasm, built connections and opened doors. This is what moves me most: an idea that carries itself forward."
