The Paper Odyssey

A creative paper lab in Guadeloupe

Paper lab vision

Local materials & biodiversity

The workshop will promote a craft inspired by our local plant and cultural heritage, using fibres such as banana, sugarcane, hemp, and coconut.

We will also experiment with invasive species – water hyacinth, bamboo, typha – whose spread threatens our biodiversity. Turning a problem into a resource.

Social inclusion & transmission

The workshop will engage vulnerable audiences – young people, families, seniors – around meaningful creative activities.

It will also host residencies for local and invited artists.

Support & recognition

This project has already received support from:

"From a feasibility study funded by ADEME to the French Ministry of Culture's Green Residencies, from invitations in Louisiana to Culture Moves Europe – the idea of the Paper Odyssey has already sparked enthusiasm, built connections and opened doors. This is what moves me most: an idea that carries itself forward."
